James P. Kerr was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1953. He studied oil painting with Laszlo Szabo from 1964-1970 and Carl Illig in 1971. James has lived in Massachusetts, North Carolina and Florida, first visiting Palm Beach County in 1976 for a painting trip. The past twenty-three years he has lived in Delray Beach. Exhibitiing over forty years, Kerr’s work is represented in hundreds of private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Denmark, Turkey and Australia. In recent years James has exhibited primarily in North Carolina and Florida.
